We go out of our way to source ales and ciders locally and from further afield – from established brewers such as Elland Brewery to up and coming newbies such as the very local Chin Chin Brewery. Spare us a thought as we make regularly brewery trips to sample the wares – customers welcome!
We might be local, but you’ll find a welcome at Wath Tap no matter where you come from or what your story is. Young, old, male, female, black, white, human or canine never be afraid to push open that door.
Although we love our ‘usual suspect’ regulars, there are never two sessions the same at Wath Tap. Check out the last Monday in the month for top-quality impromptu folk music, Wednesday at 2pm for Dave’s Quiz and Sunday lunchtimes for a spot of Yorkshire tapas, when customers bring food to share.
It’s perfectly fine to stare moodily into your pint at Wath Tap, but if you do want company there’s always someone to talk to. Shy and in need of a talking point? No subject is barred from respectful discussion and you may find the humorous ale names a great starting point!
Our wares are fresh, naturally, and you’ll find new ales every week. We like to think our approach combines the enjoyment of traditional ales with a fresh take on the great British pub. So charge your phone while you play a game of good old-fashioned dominos with the new friends you’ll make.
Enjoy a traditional pint, glass of wine or a fresh new gin. Enjoy a complimentary chip supper from the chippy next door (when there’s some left) or fill your boots from the nearby takeaways. We even have Scandi-style blankets for those who wish to sit outside on cooler evenings.
